Balaji Seamen Training Institute was established in 1999 by Mrs.C.Rajammal, Advocate, Madras High Court.

Balaji Seamen Training Institute is approved by Director General of Shipping Govt. of India, to conduct pre-sea training and other marine related courses for Seafarers. Balaji Seamen Training Institute is registered under Educational Trust namely Sri Math Narayana Trust, and Certified ISO 9001:2008 by IRQS .

Founder and Chairperson of Balaji Seamen Training Institute, Chennai belongs to southern part of Tamilnadu. She graduated from Madras Law College and started her career in the field of Law practices at Madras High Court. Besides her profession, she is keenly interested in the field of Maritime Education.
